Overview

Bacteriostatic sodium chloride is an isotonic 0.9% saline solution with benzyl alcohol added as a bacteriostatic preservative. The preservative inhibits the growth of most common bacteria, allowing a sealed multi-dose vial to be entered repeatedly rather than used once and discarded.

The 0.9% concentration is the standard isotonic concentration used as a laboratory diluent and rinse solution.

Available in 30 mL, 20 mL and 10 mL multi-dose vials, dispatched from our Melbourne facility. For laboratory and research use only — not a therapeutic good and not for human or veterinary use.

FAQ

What sizes are available?

This saline comes in 30 mL, 20 mL and 10 mL multi-dose vials.

How long can I use the vial after opening?

Because it contains a bacteriostatic preservative, a sealed multi-dose vial can be accessed repeatedly when the stopper is swabbed before each withdrawal and the contents are handled aseptically.
