These are 0.5 mL U-100 insulin syringes with a 31G / 0.25 mm × 6 mm needle, supplied 20 to a pack. They are the fixed-needle type usually searched for as insulin needles, where the needle is bonded to the barrel rather than sold separately.
Insulin Syringes (20pk) are available in New Zealand through Aus BAC Supply, dispatched from Melbourne with tracked delivery. They are stocked as a single 20-pack and in bulk quantities of 2, 5 and 10 packs — 40, 100 and 200 syringes — at a lower price per pack. A bulk quantity is that many sealed 20-packs rather than one larger box: each arrives sealed, with its own dating, and is opened when it is needed.
The barrel holds 0.5 mL and is marked in 0.01 mL graduations — 50 units on the U-100 scale. U-100 describes the printed scale rather than the syringe itself: the barrel is graduated in units for a concentration of 100 units per millilitre, so one unit corresponds to 0.01 mL. The needle is 31 gauge — 0.25 mm outside diameter — and 6 mm in length.
Each syringe is sterile, sterilised by gamma irradiation, latex-free and single-use, and is sealed in its own pack until it is opened. They are manufactured to ISO 8537, the international standard for sterile single-use syringes for insulin.
A syringe is used once and then placed in an approved sharps container — it is not re-used or re-sterilised. What it is used for, and how, is a matter for the person administering and their qualified healthcare professional. We supply the device and its specification, not directions for its use.
Stock is held in Melbourne and the status shown beside the price is the live one. Orders placed before 1 pm Melbourne time on a business day are dispatched the same business day, tracked to New Zealand; standard is estimated at 4–7 business days and express at 2–5 business days after dispatch.
We do not require a prescription to order syringes; they are sold as sterile single-use devices, sealed and as labelled. What they are used with may itself be a prescription medicine, and that medicine's preparation and use belong with its prescriber, pharmacist and product information.
No. Both are U-100, so one unit is 0.01 mL on either, but the 0.5 mL barrel holds 50 units and is marked in finer steps across a shorter scale, which makes small volumes easier to read. The 1 mL barrel holds 100 units. This pack is the 0.5 mL size.
They are sterile, single-use devices. Use is a matter for the person administering and their qualified healthcare professional; we supply the device, not directions for its use.
0.25 mm (31 gauge) by 6 mm — 31 gauge is the outside diameter and 6 mm the length.
0.5 mL, marked in 0.01 mL graduations. On a U-100 scale that is 50 units.
20, each individually sealed in its own sterile pack.
Yes. Beyond the single 20-pack there are 2, 5 and 10-pack quantities — 40, 100 and 200 syringes — priced below buying the packs one at a time. Each is supplied as its own sealed pack of 20 rather than as one larger box, so nothing about the presentation changes with the quantity.
No. Each pack is sealed separately and carries its own printed dating, so buying several does not shorten anything — an unopened pack keeps until its own expiry whichever quantity it arrived in.
By gamma irradiation, and each syringe is sealed in its own pack until it is opened. They are also latex-free.
No. Each is single-use and should be disposed of in an approved sharps container after use.
