Peptide Supplies in Australia: BAC Water, Syringes, Swabs and Sharps

Published 3 October 20266 min read
Key takeaways
  • The supplies bought alongside a freeze-dried peptide vial are a diluent, insulin syringes, alcohol swabs and a sharps container.
  • Aus BAC Supply stocks those four and nothing else: no peptides, and no preparation or administration instructions.
  • The diluent searched for is bacteriostatic water, because its label allows a sealed vial to be entered more than once.
  • The syringe searched for is a U-100 insulin syringe; what matters on it is barrel volume, graduation and needle gauge.
  • All of it is held in stock in Melbourne and dispatched the same business day before 1 pm, singly or as a kit.

The short answer

Four things are bought alongside a freeze-dried peptide vial: a diluent, insulin syringes, alcohol swabs and a sharps container. Australian searches for "peptide supplies" are searches for those four. Aus BAC Supply stocks all of them in Melbourne and dispatches the same business day on orders placed before 1 pm, tracked Australia-wide. It does not sell peptides, and nothing on this site tells you how to prepare or use one.

Use restriction: Products supplied by Aus BAC Supply are for non-therapeutic purposes only. Not for human or veterinary therapeutic use. Never inject, ingest or self-administer. This guide describes the items and their specifications. It gives no reconstitution, dosing or administration instructions; those belong with the product's own information and a qualified healthcare professional.

The diluent

A freeze-dried product cannot be measured as a liquid until it is dissolved in a compatible diluent. The one searched for is bacteriostatic water, and the reason is on its label: the benzyl alcohol preservative is what allows a sealed vial to be labelled multi-dose, where preservative-free sterile water is labelled for a single withdrawal. Bacteriostatic water for peptides in Australia covers the buying checks, and what bacteriostatic means covers the word.

Two lines are stocked and they are not labelled alike. The manufacturer-labelled 30 mL vial is the original Hospira presentation, labelled Bacteriostatic Water for Injection USP, a diluent that is never used on its own. The own-label vial in 10, 20 and 30 mL carries a warning panel ruling out injection, infusion, administration and ingestion. Each vial's own label governs; which diluent any preparation requires is stated in that product's information, not chosen by preference.

The syringes

The syringe searched for is the U-100 insulin syringe: a small barrel with fine graduations and a fixed fine-gauge needle. Three things on the pack describe it. The barrel volume, 0.5 mL or 1 mL, sets how much it holds. The graduation sets how finely it reads: on a U-100 scale one unit is 0.01 mL. The needle is given as gauge and length, where a higher gauge is a finer needle. The pack stocked here is 0.5 mL with 0.01 mL graduations and a 31G × 6 mm needle, sterile and individually sealed, 20 to a pack or in bulk to 200. Insulin syringe sizes explained goes through the markings.

A syringe is single-use. It is not re-used or re-sterilised, and it goes into a sharps container afterwards.

Swabs and the sharps container

The swabs are 70% isopropyl alcohol on a non-woven pad, each in its own sachet. 70% is the standard concentration rather than a stronger one; why 70% and not 100% explains what the water is doing. The sharps container is the 250 mL personal size with a screw top. Used needles never go into household rubbish or recycling, and how to dispose of needles and sharps in Australia covers where a full container goes.

Kits

Most orders include more than one of the four, so they are also sold together. A BAC water kit is two sealed vials with a pack of 20 syringes; the larger kit adds swabs and a sharps container. A kit is priced below the same items bought separately and ships as one parcel. Nothing is opened or repacked to build one, and a kit comes with no instructions.

What is not sold here

Peptides are not sold here. Many are prescription-only medicines in Australia, supplied on a prescription through a pharmacy, and the Therapeutic Goods Administration regulates how they are supplied and advertised. This site sells the diluent and the consumables as labelled, and that is the whole of it: no peptide, no dosing figure, no preparation step. If a seller's supplies page reads like a set of instructions, that is a reason to look harder at the seller. What to check in any supplier is set out separately.

Frequently asked questions

What supplies are bought alongside a peptide vial?

A diluent, usually bacteriostatic water; U-100 insulin syringes; 70% isopropyl alcohol swabs; and a sharps container for used needles. Aus BAC Supply stocks those four as sealed, labelled items and gives no preparation or administration instructions.

Do you sell peptides?

No. Aus BAC Supply sells bacteriostatic water, bacteriostatic saline, insulin syringes, swabs and sharps containers. Many peptides are prescription-only medicines in Australia and are supplied through a pharmacy on a prescription.

Is reconstitution solution the same as BAC water?

Reconstitution solution is a general term for the diluent a freeze-dried product is dissolved in. Bacteriostatic water is one specific diluent: sterile water with 0.9% benzyl alcohol, in a multi-dose vial. Whether a given product takes bacteriostatic water, sterile water or saline is stated in that product's own information.

What syringes are sold for use with BAC water?

0.5 mL U-100 insulin syringes with 0.01 mL graduations and a fixed 31G × 6 mm needle, sterile, single-use and individually sealed, in packs of 20 or bulk quantities to 200.

Are peptide supplies in stock in Australia?

The diluent and the consumables are held in Melbourne. Orders placed before 1 pm Melbourne time on a business day are dispatched the same business day, tracked Australia-wide, with Express Post typically arriving within 1–3 business days.

Do I need a prescription to buy the supplies?

Aus BAC Supply does not require a prescription to order bacteriostatic water, syringes, swabs or a sharps container; they are sold sealed and as labelled. What they are used with may itself be a prescription medicine.
