Insulin Syringes (20pk)

These are 0.5 mL U-100 insulin syringes with a 31G / 0.25 mm × 6 mm needle, supplied 20 to a pack. They are the fixed-needle type usually searched for as insulin needles, where the needle is bonded to the barrel rather than sold separately.

They are stocked as a single 20-pack and in bulk quantities of 2, 5 and 10 packs — 40, 100 and 200 syringes — at a lower price per pack. A bulk quantity is that many sealed 20-packs rather than one larger box: each arrives sealed, with its own dating, and is opened when it is needed.

The barrel holds 0.5 mL and is marked in 0.01 mL graduations — 50 units on the U-100 scale. U-100 describes the printed scale rather than the syringe itself: the barrel is graduated in units for a concentration of 100 units per millilitre, so one unit corresponds to 0.01 mL. The needle is 31 gauge — 0.25 mm outside diameter — and 6 mm in length.

Each syringe is sterile, sterilised by gamma irradiation, latex-free and single-use, and is sealed in its own pack until it is opened. They are manufactured to ISO 8537, the international standard for sterile single-use syringes for insulin.

A syringe is used once and then placed in an approved sharps container — it is not re-used or re-sterilised. What it is used for, and how, is a matter for the person administering and their qualified healthcare professional. We supply the device and its specification, not directions for its use.
